How is legal recruitment changing? What are the new ideas and where are they coming from?
Phil Jepson has had involvement with the legal recruitment market since 1994 when as a partner at Dibb Lupton Broomhead he worked with his head of department in building a new team.
Many things about law firms and their markets have changed since then. The recruitment market and the basic methodologies used by recruiters do not seem to have changed correspondingly.
As part of his MBA, Phil Jepson wrote a dissertation studying Innovation in the Legal Recruitment Market.
The idea wasto look at what has changed in the methodologies of recruiters and the service they provide over the last 10 years, to try to understand the unmet needs of the clients and to identify opportunities for innovation in the future.

Brief introduction to Phil Jepson's Dissertation
As part of an MBA, the dissertation is a paper of approximately 15000 words which takes an area of business and analyses both the theory behind it, and practical applications and outcomes. It will normally include some field research as well as review of academic literature and the author has 20 weeks to complete the exercise. Download / View |
