The most difficult question you can ask most law firms is 'How are you different from the firm next door?'. That is because in most cases they are not.In a market which is getting more and more competitive and which is about to have external commercial interests unleashed within it that is a significant shortcoming.
There are only 2 bases for competition, price and differentiation.
Competing on price is a bad idea for the firm and the market.
Each firm needs to differentiate.
The aim should be to be so different that other firms cannot compete directly with you.
