Our edge is our honest, commercial approach and our 35 years of experience in legal practice. Each of our consultants has worked in legal practice for 10 years or more.

You engage us to find you the right person for a key role in your business.

We discuss and agree with you the type of individual you want and where they are likely to be. We then carry out research to identify possible candidates.

We then introduce the candidates to you and work with you to carry out a professional and effective selection process.

We have a number of Search products but can tailor what we do to meet your need.

We act as your representative in the market to project a positive image of our client to the candidates ant to use our experience and expertise to screen them.

In the course of our search activity and regular discussions with our network of contacts we come across, or are approached by high calibre individuals or teams who may be willing to consider moving if the right opportunity can be presented to them.

This means that we are well placed to make introductions of individuals to firms where they can find the culture, environment and opportunity that they are looking for.

Strategic Consulting

Our 2 Directors spent 25 years in legal practice between them during which time they both progressed to partner level. They had full P&L responsibility for business units including departments, a multi sited team and an office.

Jepson Holt's presence in the legal market and the kind of work it does, gives wide experience of law firm strategy and contact with strategy makers.

Phil Jepson is currently completing an MBA at one of the UKs oldest established and leading business schools. research project and management of change.

Jepson Holt is associated with Manchester Business School through its business incubator, and this gives access to the information and teaching resources of Manchester Business School which can be deployed where needed.

All of this makes us ideally placed to work with law firms in developing their Vision and Strategy and helping to implement them.

Outplacement

The decision to move a Partner out of a law firm is a difficult one.
There will be a good business reason but there is likely to be a lot of emotion surrounding the situation and often the firm will want to do what it can to help the Partner move out and move on with their life.
The situation may be that the Partner needs to find another similar job in a law firm but if so they will want to avoid a similar situation happening again in the future.
Alternatively they may want to move on to do something different.
 
Either way the Firm can smooth the transition and help the Partner move on by offering outplacement.
 
We have a structured outplacement programme specifically designed for law firm partners.
 
We work with the individual over a 6 week period to help them come to terms with their situation. identify their strengths and weaknesses, look at the opportunites which lie ahead of them and help them to move towards where they decide they want to go.
 
The programme includes rigorous self analysis and behavioral profiling.
 
Our programme has been designed and is administered by Phil Jepson who spent almost 15 years working in law firms and has been a partner in 3 Top 50 law firms. Since 2001 Phil has been working with law firms as a head hunter and consultant and has recently acquired an MBA.

Mergers and Acquisitions

On occasions merger or acquisition is the right strategic choice. We can discuss the options and help to verify the decisions made. We can help to find a partner or target which is a good match strategically and culturally. We can use our expertise in benchmarking and behavioural profiling to consider the dynamics of the firms and the teams within them. We can be as involved in the process as much or as little as is required including moderating discussions and providing strategic advice.

We understand the market and the key issues facing law firms. We can provide unique input to discussions about resourcing.

We can help you maximise the potential of the people you already have as well as helping you develop business by strategic recruitment.

We use the most advanced behavioural profiling commercially available and this has an number of applications in relation to organisational culture, team building, performance management and recruiting.
