We still come across a lot of law firms who despite the new anti discrimination laws describe themselves to us as 'A young firm' or as having 'A young partnership' as if this is some kind of virtue.
Regardless of the law it is a mistake to equate youth with talent and vitality.
The most energetic, enthusiastic and visionary partners I know are in their mid 50s. Not only do they have these qualities but they have experience and wisdom to boot.
Forget the age.
Focus on the talent and the commitment.
The question should not be are they too young or too old to be a partner but what do they know and what do they contribute.
